Bergamot Incense brings out all the facets of this radiant citrus fruit with spicy and woody contrasting ingredients.
The warmth of olibanum bolsters the smokiness of frankincense oil. Juniper berry plays to its bright, zingy nature, with a tingle to the nose.
Tea notes and iris absolute calm and soothe. A scent created to be soft and vibrant, cool and warm, sunlit and shadowy.
Bergamot
Bergamot is a nobly green citrus fruit of the Citrus bergamia that grows in Southern Italy. Most will recognize the smell from Earl Gray tea, where it’s used to fragrance and flavor the tea leaves.
It’s one of the most commonly used top notes in perfumes due to its rich and complex smell. It smells zesty citrus, sharp lime-like, green and aromatic-lavender with spicy-coriander and woody undertones. This versatile and beloved ingredient offsets richer, more opulent notes perfectly, adding a sparkle, which is why it remains a firm favorite with perfumers.
Frankincense
Also known as olibanum, frankincense is a tree resin left hardened into golden rocks and obtained from the Boswellia sacra tree, native to Oman and Yemen, and also found in Northern Africa, perfumers mainly find their source from Somalia.
Nicknamed the “king of essential oils“, its quality is determined by the tree family from which it’s taken, color, age and aroma. Once reserved for use only by kings and queens, frankincense has been used in burial rituals, religious ceremonies for millennia.
It’s an opulent and complex ingredient, smelling sweet and smoky, woody and soft, balsamic, resinous, herbaceous and coniferous.
