Capturing all the fond memories of summer holidays – this is a fragrance that heroes the ‘sunny’ solar facets of Jasmine Sambac – all suntans, warm nights and exotic flower bushes.
Paired with Osmanthus, with its delicate apricot and tea notes, it becomes velvety. Tiare flowers and frangipani blossoms, radiant, creamy and coconut-laced, give the effect of sand-coated skin, warmed by the sun, on lazy beach days.
Jasmine Sambac
Jasmine sambac flowers are night bloomers and typically used in teas. They are sweeter, greener and sultrier
compared to the more opulent counterpart – jasmine grandiflorum – that also has the sweet fruity note characteristic of bananas.
When used in perfume, jasmine gives an intensity to fragrances, often bestowing an opulent, sensual and warmfeel. It ranges from sweet and floral to intoxicating, sensual and animalic.
Osmanthus
Osmanthus has a mouth-watering, honeyed, apricot-peachy top note, often used in perfumery to obtain a kind of floral fuzziness and a palpable softness akin to the skin of the velvety fruits.
It also has a luscious creamy facet and thus, pairs well with lactonic flowers, like tuberose, gardenia and frangipani.
I sometimes find jasmine perfumes too heady or too floral, but the moment I tried this on my skin I fell in love. The bright peachy notes that come through are incredible and it lasts on my skin just the way I like it: not overpowering but always there. It's a balance of vibrancy, sophistication and silkiness all in one bottle.
