01

What first sparked your interest in fragrance?

Being French, I grew up surrounded by perfume culture. My passion started very early, around ten or twelve. I was obsessed, collecting bottles, magazine ads and samples, hundreds of them, all meticulously organised. At the same time my mother worked with botanicals, so our home was full of plants and flowers. That constant exposure to natural scent shaped my love of olfaction. From a young age I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to fragrance, not just as a passion but as a career.

Tell us about your training

I studied at ISIPCA, one of the most prestigious perfume schools in the world, then trained for a couple of years before taking on various roles in perfumery, and eventually started my own creative lab in London, which became the foundation for EPC. I still remember my first day crossing the gates of ISIPCA, not quite believing I was there.

Olfaction is not an innate talent, it is a skill trained and acquired over years. Memorising scents, recognising raw materials and composing a balanced fragrance takes relentless practice. Perfumery is a craft that can be learned, mastered and continuously improved.

03

Why did you decide to start your own business?

I started EPC to make perfumery more accessible and to break down the barriers of traditional fragrance creation. The industry has often felt closed, with scent creation reserved for a select few. My biggest passion at the start was olfactory education: helping people develop their sense of smell and understand the craft beyond simply wearing a scent. Over time EPC grew from an educational platform into a brand offering a personalised experience, but the ethos is unchanged: making perfumery open, creative and personal. You can see where that leads in Scent School.

What have you learned as a female founder?

It has been a journey of resilience, self-belief and constant learning. The biggest lesson is to trust my instincts: no one knows your vision better than you. Building a business is not just a good idea, it is execution, persistence and the right people around you. It is also about taking risks with no safety net, and as a mother of two, balancing both has meant real sacrifice on both sides.

Entrepreneurship is not a straight path. It is a series of leaps, failures, reinventions and breakthroughs. Through it all you have to stay passionate, adaptable and open to the unexpected.

05

Your advice for women starting out

  • 01Own your vision: take up space and stand by your ideas, even when they challenge the norm.
  • 02Be patient: meaningful things take time.
  • 03Stay curious: in perfumery, branding or business, never stop learning.
  • 04Find your network: surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you.
  • 05Do not wait for perfection: start before you feel ready, you will figure it out as you go, because everyone else does.

06

Your vision for the future of EPC

I see EPC continuing to grow in meaningful ways: expanding internationally, deepening our personalisation, and welcoming more people into the experience as our central London boutique reaches capacity. We are committed to our B Corp standards, prioritising sustainability, ethical sourcing and responsible practice. Above all I want EPC to remain a pioneer in personalised perfumery, a brand that invites people to create a fragrance that is truly their own.
