Train your nose
Smell, describe and memorise the core perfumery materials, naturals and synthetics, until each becomes familiar.
Understand structure
Fragrance families and olfactory structure, and how a composition is built and evolves on the skin.
Formulation techniques
Harmony, contrast and balance within a formula, and how to build and adjust a dosage until it sits right.
Set up your lab
Equipment and workspace, preparing dilutions, handling materials accurately and weighing with precision.
Formulate from scratch
Recreate a classic rose accord, then compose your own creative accords and complete perfumes.
Work like a professional
Write a brief, allocate proportions, refine and rework, and understand the restrictions for commercial release.

Emmanuelle Moeglin
Founder
A classically trained nose, Em studied at ISIPCA in France before spending over twelve years in the industry, including Fragrance Designer roles at L'Oréal and Puig across Paris, Barcelona and New York. She founded EPC to open the creative process to all, and created its Signature Blends.

Questions, answered
Is the course fully online and self-paced?
Yes. The course is fully online and available on demand. You can begin whenever it suits you and study at your own pace.
Can I try before I enrol?
Yes. Enter your email on the free Mini Masterclass page and the three lessons are yours straight away: the building blocks of a formula, harmony and contrast, and the structure behind every perfume. Nothing to cancel, and nothing to return.
Do I need any experience?
No. The course is designed for complete beginners as well as more advanced fragrance enthusiasts. You are guided step by step, with clear instructions and modules that build on one another.
Are the materials included?
Yes. All materials and tools are included with your enrolment. You receive the Perfumer's Organ: a curated selection of perfumery materials, professional tools and the Perfumer’s Handbook, everything you need to study and practise at home.
Can I start with the Foundation and continue later?
Yes. Many students begin with the Foundation and continue later. On completing it you are offered Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 directly from the Student Shop, at your own pace. Taking the Complete Programme from the start brings all three together, with two years of access.
How long do I have access?
The Foundation gives one year of access from the date of enrolment. The Complete Programme gives two years. Both can be renewed annually if you need longer.
How long does it take to complete?
It depends entirely on your pace. On average the Foundation takes 1.5 to 6 months, while the full Programme takes 3 to 12 months. You have a full year to learn on your own schedule.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. On completing the course you receive a digital EPC Certificate of Achievement.
Is there support while I learn?
Learning support comes from the Student Community Group, where you can ask questions, share your work and hear from other students. Our team is available for technical support.
